Hi! My Prelims are coming soon so this will one of few last(most likely) posts before I start revising for exams massively.

Hahas. Anyway, the reason that prompt me to post today is that I got several stuffs to share with you guys. =]

First up, my class recently had several tests(and more this week, =.=). Some of the results are back! They are:
  1. Chemistry Test -> 20/25
  2. A.Maths Test -> 94/100 (Top in class! Tie with Dolly!)
  3. Physics Test -> 20/25(as claimed by Mr Goh)
And my class won first place for International Friendship Day Noticeboard Decoration Competition for Secondary 4/5! Special Congratulations to class 4D!!!(that's my class ;)

Hey, I helped out too, albeit just some. So I, as do the rest, get some share of the prize! :D

And today's Photo-taking for CCA!

I wonder how am I going to get hold of the pictures but I assure, I got a feeling that the picture would be either comical or nice! =]

Wanna know why? Mr Goh recently came back with a fractured arm and the whole club(alright, I admit, I co-administrated it) decided to act as if we had an fractured arm and took the picture for the candid shot. What fun!

The best part was that Mr Goh was kind enough to play along and helped made the movement a success. =]

And I said at that moment, we should change our club to the 'Disabled Club'. Mr Goh replied that it should be the 'one-hand club' LOLs?

And guess what? This is the first time I sat on the first row for photo-taking. Oh wait, was it really first time. Oh well, maybe second time. =]
I mean me being sort of tall, it's kind of amazing that I have the chance to sit at the first row and stand on the last row in my lifetime for photo-taking. ;)
Some kind of achievement, huh. Hahas, yeah, me and my ideas.

Moving on, our photo-taking session was super delayed. In fact, we took our photo roughly one hour and a half later from the time slot. All thanks to the NCC Uniformed Group who took an eternity to prepare for the photo-taking because of their sheer membership size.
Oh well...

I will having History test and another A.Maths Test this Thursday. Wish me luck! ;)

Man, how I wish I can get my hands on those photos.

P.S: I wrote a funny song during my free time, please feel free to comment on it. Here goes:

This is sky
This is life
Everybody wants to cry
How we wonder we can lie
So that we can see them smile

This is wrong
It can't be
How we wish it would be
So that death isn't there
So that peace is always here

So this is it
This is fate
We can't change it after all
For things have always been
and always it will be
After all.....

And finally another weird thing I came up with:
STRESS = Super Terrifying Radiation Eroding Souls Syndrome.

So that's why having stress is bad for us. (lols!)

I was supposed to start this week's post with a happy tone. Guess my father totally ruined it for me.
Since I don't want to make myself even more angry and indirectly make your guys shake your heads after knowing how stupidity can be so easily be found, let us move on to my intended topic.
:D

The Return of our Childhood when we were in Kovan...
A lame topic yeah..

I still can't believe I spent hours this afternoon playing in a playground. I don't know why myself.

Today, we had a mass lecture in school about common mistakes committed by Singaporeans during exams. (which prior to that someone made his first stupid thing for today at home)

I told my parents that I am not coming back to lunch(a wise move considering the stupidity of someone in the house)

So I tagged along with Yan Zhi, Jaytii, and Lai Yin to eat lunch together.

Christopher did not join us as his parents demanded him to return home.(well sort of)
Jie Sheng followed us to the MRT station though he was kind of quiet throughout the walk.

Which reminds me: What's with today? Some gloomy day?

Whatever the case, I don't want to care. We reached Compass Point and we still could not decide on what to eat and it took us around 1~2 hours to finally go to Kovan and eat some chicken rice(which Yan Zhi said was nice :)

On the way to board the train, I saw Mr.Goh. Actually he saw me first. I was like, "Why is that fellow staring at me, and closing to smiling???" Then I noticed that his hand was bandaged. Then realisation sat in, he is Mr Goh!!! OMG! His face is totally different since his hairstyle is unlike his in school. Even Yan Zhi, jaytii, Lai Yin can't recognise him until I was waving like some madman. Yan Zhi was wondering who I was waving to and look at Mr Goh, and thought he was his uncle! LOLs? Jaytii and Lai Yin was totally clueless until Yan Zhi told them. Hahas.

We ate Chicken Rice at some park. There, we conclude that the environment(setting) is very romantic, being serene and falling leaves and all.

Then we started being childish and played See-saw and Swings. Yeah, unbelievable.

Oh and there was an cat encounter while we settled down to eat lunch.

Fooled around for around 3 hours before we went home.

And guess what, I discovered something interesting!

Jaytii and Yan Zhi were classmates during Kindergarten! They're classmates during Secondary School and now schoolmates! Is this just wow or what?

And, and their primary school was just next to each other. Double WOW!!!

Very coincidental right? I wish something like that could happen to me. Haiz....lols...

Oh well, this post is sort of short simply because I'm tired, pressed for time.

So in short...

I had several tests this week:
  1. Maths Test
  2. Chemistry Test
  3. Geography Test
  4. Nafa (Physical) Test
And next week I have Physics Test.

Oh dear...Need to study like some maniac now. Until next time then. Haiz...

Exploring My Interests and Their Link to Occupations

Have you ever wondered why you are interested in some occupations and not in others?
Each of us enjoy doing some things and not others, and this is why interests vary from person to person.
Scientists have found that interests in activities related to the world of work can divide into six categories.
They have designated these categories by the letters R.I.A.S.E.C.:
Interest CodeInterest TitleDescription of Interest
RRealisticRealistic interests often involve working outdoors, with one's hands and being involved with adventure.
IInvestigativeInvestigative interests involve finding out the answers to questions, scientific inquiry and use of logical analysis.
AArtisticArtistic interests involve creativity and self-expression.
SSocialSocial interests involve helping others and interpersonal-related work activities.
EEnterprisingEnterprising interests involve sales and marketing ideas and products.
CConventionalConventional interests involve working within set procedures and rules.
Many combinations of interests are unique to specific occupations.
For example, medical doctors are often individuals who have interests that are investigative, social and enterprising.
They enjoy finding out the answers to problems, working with people, and creating their own medical practice.

Why Do Interests Matter to Me?

It is important for you to identify your pattern of interests.
First, you can match your pattern to a wide range of occupations.
Second, scientists have learned that people are happier when they participate in jobs that relate to their pattern of interests.
For example, imagine that your interests are Artistic, Realistic and Investigative.
This pattern of interests, termed ARI for short, means that you are creative and may enjoy working with your hands or working outdoors.
You may also enjoy solving problems. Architect is one occupation that relates to this pattern of interests.
Architects help to design, plan and supervise the construction of buildings.
If you have an ARI interest pattern, Architect may be a good option for you to pursue,
because it blends your desire to create new things with your interests in working with your hands and being outdoors.
When you know your pattern of interests, you can avoid occupations that you will not enjoy.
For example, according to scientists who study these interest patterns, the opposite profile to Artistic,
Realistic and Investigative is Conventional, Social and Enterprising. An occupation that matches the Conventional,
Social and Enterprising profile is Correctional Officer Supervisor. Correctional Officer Supervisors follow a set of
rules and procedures and do not create new approaches within their occupation.
They manage people as opposed to things, and they do not problem-solve.
Correctional Officer Supervisors also persuade and train others how to follow procedures.
This type of occupation would be the opposite of the interests you have shown if you are Artistic, Realistic and Investigative.

How Did You Measure My Interests?

In the Personal Globe Inventory (PGI), you responded to a list of 115 different activities.
You indicated whether you liked the activity and whether you believed you were good at performing it.
We then organized the activities into the six interest areas: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social and Conventional.

My Results

You can see your personal results in the graph below.
The scores listed in the graph represent the degree to which your pattern of interests relates to each of the RIASEC areas.
  • Realistic
  • Investigative
  • Artistic
  • Social
  • Enterprising
  • Conventional

Which Occupations May Match My Interests?

We identified the R I A S E C interest areas for a large number of different occupations.
Each occupation has its unique pattern of interests that it may satisfy best.
Below, you can see a list of some occupations that may match your pattern of interests.
Some occupations may be ones that you have never thought about before!
As you learn about the different occupations, think about how you can continue to develop your interests to prepare for your future career.

As you explore occupations, you will find that they have different educational needs, different salaries, and other characteristics that make them unique.
You may discover that an occupation that you thought was boring is actually quite interesting.
You also may discover that an occupation that looked great from its title may not look so great when you learn the details.

Also, explore occupations that may relate to some but not all of your interest areas. If you like the occupation,
you may want to think about new learning opportunities that you can pursue to develop those interests.
Use this table to understand better your results compared to the results for the matching occupations.

Understanding the Personal Globe Inventory (PGI) Report

The RIASEC code reflects your occupational interests. The accuracy of the
RIASEC code and the matching occupations are derived from your personal
responses to the items based on your interests and confidence level of your
ability. It is important to understand that your interest and confidence in
your ability may change over time as you grow and have new experiences. Hence
the PGI findings should be used as a guide and not a predictor of your future
educational and occupational choices. It can be used as a starting point for
further exploration of possible career options and the corresponding
educational and professional pathways.

Second post this week! I should have posted this yesterday after I returned from my grandmother's house but I got side-tracked. Sorry!!!

Anyway, today's topic would be...

Nan Chiau High School Anniversary cum Prize-Giving Ceremony

Like I said on my previous post, today we have no lessons but Mrs Hay want us to go back for extra lessons on that day!
So we came back during the morning even though the Ceremony only starts at night.

The ceremony starts officially at 4pm at night. I arrived at school at around 3.45pm and quite a number of students have arrived.

In my class, Jie Sheng, Bao Lin, Cynthia, Wei Ting and Jia Pei already came.
Found on the seat, a leaflet and a thank-you card. O.o

And guess what, those are the only pictures I have to show you because I don't think anyone(except the school staff) have the pictures and we're not allowed to use camera in school.

Bear with it. ;)
[Click Picture to enlarge][Picture by page order]

Cover Page
This is the cover page of the leaflet and no, your eyes are not deceiving you, it's really only have this few colours. (yes, yucks)
And no, I did not photoshop it to make it look as if it is some ancient text.

TY card cum School Song
The Thank-You card attached with the leaflet
And I have also no absolute idea why is there four arrows facing the centre, as if it needs to be cut off.

School Song on the other side, I have no comments about it.(you make your own ;)

Activities
As you can see, all the performance are by musical groups. What happened to other performances like drama or something?

The Presentation of School Video was a let-down but it's okay.

Performance by Choir was greatly made fun of by Class 4E
Performance by Chinese Orchestra was....weird.
Emelia's Guzheng Ensemble will win them hands down.

Performance by Wind Orchestra - did not pay much attention to the music
But I like the conductor, so funny! He has funny facial expressions! Made it worth it to attend the ceremony. LOLs!

Performance by String Orchestra was a so-so. But I like the names of the songs. :D
--
Guest of Honour's Address was funny! He was like a comedian. Made me laugh several times. ;)
--
BTW, I omitted the Awardees List since you and I will have no idea who they are. Hahas!
--
And not all the programme took place, refreshment was not served to students in the end. Wonder why they bother to write it on a leaflet meant for students in the first place.

Teacher Awards
Congrats to these teachers! Especially Mr Seah and Mr Neo!!! You really deserved it!!!

Achievements
Our schools achievements for Year 2008(duh, it's written on the picture)

Funny that they did not write that my CCA won N.I.C.A.2008 in National Level but did include Learn@ 1N for 2008. Some weird space constraint? Hmmm....
--
I can't believe they dare to state that there were only 19 distinction out of two levels for Rio Tinto Big Science Competition. I'm speechless....

Acknowledgements
Finally, I cannot conclude the summary of this ceremony without thanking those who helped made this ceremony reality right? Thus, this picture above is dedicated to them ;)

-->Some Side-stories

During my Principal's address, he spoke in English first.
After the his address, we all thought he spoke finished and we all clapped. The Emcees appeared as well.

Then...
He started speaking in Chinese. The Emcees got shocked and retreated back to the backstage.
Meanwhile, the school jeered. What a disgrace to the guest....

Luckily, the whole school was not scolded by Ms Pey later. Hahas

After the Prize-Giving Ceremony, the emcees invited Guest of Honour to stay on stage to receive a souvenir from the school. But the Guest of Honour was preoccupied with thanking the student leaders and was leaving the stage while waving goodbye to the emcees. Then the emcees used a rather-irritated tone to inform the Guest of Honour to stay on stage.

ROFL?

During the entire ceremony, I was not hungry! Why? Bao Lin and Wei Ting brought snacks! Mmm!!!

I ate sweets and tidbits! Many thanks to them!
--
On one occasion, Cynthia gave me an empty packet. =.= Okay, so I asked for it but at least inform me it was already empty!?...lols.
But anyway, she's kind enough to give me some to eat. :p
So I owe her a word of thanks huh?
--
Anyway, Zi jie was very noisy. OMG, originally I was seated next to him (god save me...)

Thankfully, I was given opportunity to get away. (Thanks Ms Pey!)

But by doing so, I sort of sabo-ed Cynthia cus Zi jie was shifted to sit with her.

Oops? oh well..I hope she did not mind. Hahas. ;)
Now, was I too evil. Wasn't exactly my fault right? Heee..

My father told my mother that I was not coming back for dinner that day. So I ate less than usual that day. I'm so freaking glad that I ate some stuff during the ceremony or I would have starved to death. :p
--
And to think my father tried to scold me - For coming home early, when I did not. LOLs?

Alright, that's all. Good bye!

Emelia's Guzheng Ensemble Performance @ Esplanade
Hiya guys! Notice that this week's post is a bit early? This is because tomorrow, my school have no lessons, so I have another long weekend to rest! Cheers!

Okay, back to the main point.

Today, I attended Emelia's Guzheng Ensemble Performance @ Esplanade, along with John and their father.

John and I met at City Hall Station @ around 6.30pm. We chatted on the net until 5.44pm and I was amazed I can reach City Hall so fast. Hahas!
Then we met John's father at the Esplanade.

7.00pm -> No sign of Emelia. Though the Guzheng were arranged and people were gathering.

Since we had not had dinner, we went loitering around the building for some nice food. But seriously, we know that in 15 minutes, we can't do much. So we went back to watch the performance with empty stomach. (See Emelia? We so noble! lols)

The performance was nice and lively! I think the microphones need not be there at all, it's loud enough. =]
John's father is very pro! He can keep his hands steady while recording the performance throughout the performance!

Wonder if I will get my hands on it and show you guys! =]

After the performance, Emelia took some pictures with her friends before she have to go back to prepare for the second performance while we headed for dinner.

Our plan was to eat finish in 25 minutes but...

Let's see, we decided to eat Fish & Chips while John's father ordered laksa.
We went to this restaurant called "Sour Puss".
Hopefully, the food is not to sour! hahas!

Turns out that the carrot was too sweet instead!!!
Ironic, huh? LOLs!!!

We also had satay as side order.

In the end, we took around 1 hour to eat. Missed the second performance by Emelia totally.

Oh well, here's a funny thing:

It turns out that eating at that restaurant allows us to have a free goodie bag.
John's father went on ahead to watch Emelia's performance while giving us the task to redeem the gift from the shop.

But we can't, the salesperson said only a female can redeem it(WTH!?).
John and I was like, "okay....."
But we said thanks anyway.
(They say got CCTV watching so cannot pass to males cus will get caught..-.-)

Went back to his dad who then asked Emelia(after end of her performance) to collect the gift.

Turns out the gift is some girl magazine(and other stuffs).

=.=

Their father say the gift was not goodie bag. More like trash bag. (We call it 'badie bag'!) Hahas!

After that, we took photos together in front of the stage and talking about stuffs.

finally, we went to fetch their mother and I bade farewell and went home.

Then when I reach home and switch on my computer, I received this message:
(4/16/2009 8:56:56 PM) Cynthia: change ur pm
(4/16/2009 8:57:02 PM) Cynthia: u...
(4/16/2009 8:57:06 PM) Cynthia: ||
(4/16/2009 8:57:34 PM) Cynthia: siew mai came to ask me about it u noe!!
But I was offline during that time, some offline message left to me. LOLs! Anyway, I have no idea what caused the fuss but I changed my pm in MSN nonetheless.

That should be all for today. Goodnight!

P.S: Pictures should be available once Emelia has them. Video-wise, not sure =]

Secret War Journal[12 April 2009]

Sunday, April 12, 2009
Ah, HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!

It is good to be alive. Several things happened over this week, hopefully I can talk all about them. Hahas.

Should we start with the most eventful(the one that I feel it is) one?

Alright, some background information:
Last Sunday, my family and my extended family went to pay our respects to our late family members as it was 'qingming' festival. That day was a gloomy day, with dark clouds and all. Before we knew it, there was a heavy downpour and we were drenched from head to toe.
And guess what? On Monday, I was hit with bad flu. Ouch! I have no idea how many pieces of tissue paper had I used that day alone. LOLS!

Well anyway, that's just the beginning. After school, I was really tired and went for an afternoon nap. Ate dinner and went back to bed.

The last thing I wanted was chest pain. In the middle of the night, I woke up with chest pain. I ended up spending one hour at night trying to alleviate the pain before I fell asleep again(or lost consciousness).

During the period of time when I felt pain, I seriously thought this was it, I'm near death or something. Call me dumb but I was like whispering, "I'm too young to die".

Guess that worked. LOLs.

Thinking back, I think it might be the over-sneezing that made my chest hurts(my lungs over-worked?)

Hopefully so. It better not be some undetected disease or something.

Luckily, the days after that, I felt better and better! :D
So I guess all is well now(..for now?)

Though I have sore throat now. grr...-.-

This week, we have an long weekend! Isn't that great? Sad to say, I spent most of the time sleeping. Been really tired lately due to long period of insufficient sleep for the past few months.

So I feel more refreshed now! Yay! Rejoice! Hahas.. ;)

But hey! I'm not some sleeping pig that sleep the whole day long. I did homework, little housework(opps? Tehee) and played some games!

Recently, John and I went back to playing OpenTTD, a transport tycoon simulation game.

John's now a better player than me ;)
[C'mon! Admit you're owning..hahas]

Back to my school life, I had a English Situational Test recently, I hope I did well for it. This is because I'm now concentrating on improving my English and Chemistry to improve me L1R5. ;)

Yep! Let's all work hard to go to the same school(and a good one as well..hahas)

Tomorrow is my Social Studies Test. It seems challenging, one big chunk of contents packed into one chapter. Haiz...

Not to mention Maths Test in the coming Saturday. Secondary 4 life is just about tests and examinations. Haiz...

I really hope that we can watch some movies during the June Holidays. Really need to release some steam. Hahas.

On a side note, Bao Lin and Cynthia seems to be getting easily provoked(or maybe it is just me) recently, maybe they're stressed as well..hahas)

Not to mention the fact that, they got angry because someone cut their queue during lunch time and that dish sorta went out of stock because that guy bought the last one. LOLs? Really laughable. Okay, that was unkind.

Right some advertising time!

Watch this anime series called "Pandora Hearts"!!!

It's airing now and I think it's nice!!! GoGo! don't hesitate!

LOLs...okay, won't force you guys. Guess most of you guys just like to watch "Naruto" :p

That should be all, bye!

P.S: Marcus!!! You did not call me as planned. LOLs!

Footnote to all: This place is not getting that secretive anymore, it's getting public attention by Search Engines, I actually saw the link to here(which in the past, impossible). Is this a bad sign? Maybe not ;P

~ ADDITIONAL CONTENT -12/4/2009- ~

Ah! Sorry for bulging in to this post again, I forgot to talk about something interesting that Jaytii thought of recently...

On Thursday, the before Good Friday, Chris, Jaytii, Lai Yin and I went to Compass Point for Lunch.
On the way, we met Wei Ting and Bao Lin, who also are going for lunch.
We saw a classmate from a distance, but that's not the main point.

Anyway, we decided to have lunch together at the food court. Jaytii started calling Wei Ting her 'exotic leader' and we started to have ideas.

And so the idea of 'WeiTinglism' is born.

Info(this is for fun only):
  1. Government: Dictatorship
  2. Leader: Wei Ting AKA Waiting
  3. 2nd-in-command: Jaytii AKA Wasted
  4. Members:
    1. Bao Lin AKA Wei Lin
    2. Christopher AKA wo shi lying de Wei Yi
    3. Me
And thus if you can make sentence with some of the nicks: I am Waiting to be wasted. :P.

Okay, that's it for now before Jaytii started brainwashing us. HAHAs :p

~ END ADD ~

Pre-Post Message:
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY JOHN!!! =]
Yep, you guessed right(if you even made an effort to)!

Today, 4th April, is my best friend's, Johnston's, Birthday!!!

Let us all sing 'Happy Birthday to you' song to him! :)

Now he can watch NC-16 Movies. LOLS.

Well, it's been a long week and it took me longer than expected to cover that Sport's Day Post. So I have quite a few pictures to show you guys. :D

First up! I just received a letter confirming my change of address!
Letter of Confirmation
Yet the funny thing is that they're still sending me letters to my old address. (LOLS)
My father says maybe the information have not been updated yet in the systems. But who knows? Hahas.

Next up, during this week's CCA, my teacher-in-charge gave us back some way, way overdue certificates that we should have received long ago.

Here's the overdue certificates:
Certificate of AttendanceNIC 2007 Certificate
See the year stated in the certificate? It's 2 years ago already. Haiz...

But aside all this, I wish I could take back my trophies and store in some cabinet at home and admire it. Hahas, impossible.

Meanwhile, my school recently invited a speaker to talk about how should we manage our emotions.

Here are some extracts of activities we did(taken from the handout):
Cover
Emotion Analysis Test
About MeAbout Me Pg2
Results: One Common Hit - Me being funny =]

And finally, here's a guide on how to relax if you feel sad or just plain Stressed!
Guide in Relaxing One Self

Right! I cleared all the pictures!

I have great news, I scored first in class(draw with Jie Sheng, the Maths Pro) for my AMaths Test on Maxima and Minima Problems.

I feel so happy, I can actually be on par with Jie Sheng. LOLS!

Sadly, today's EMATHS test on Vectors and Practical Maths, I do not have that much confidence. Even Jie Sheng claimed that he lost 10+ marks due to some careless mistakes.

Hmm..hopefully, I can get distinction for that test. =]
(nay, not aiming for top, I'm weak at vectors)

Lastly, I conclude that this week had been a oral week for me.

I cleared my "Chinese Newspaper Reflection Presentation" on 2nd April, "O" Levels Chinese Mock Oral Examination on 1st April(no, not some April's Fools prank) and English Oral on 3 April.

Wow, just plain wow.

My "O" Levels Chinese Mock Oral Examination was a total disaster. The teacher actually stopped me when I read the passage at the third quarter. I mean this is the first time I got stopped by a teacher during an Oral Examination. Oh my god!
It's just a bad omen. He then went on to conversation section and asked me a question about Singaporeans migrating to foreign country.
But the problem was, he used some difficult words that I was stunned.(no idea what he was asking...)
In the end, I took a gamble and got correct. Phew, thank god he really was asking about Singaporeans migrating or else, I'm toasted.

On the next day was my "Chinese Newspaper Reflection Presentation". I got 15/20. I'm so happy!
I got a few words pronounced wrong here and there but getting 15 marks is an achievement for me. I'm a weak Chinese student and I got distinction! Yay!

P.S to Wei Siang: Hah I won you! You got only 14.5. Didn't really expected I would won you though. Miracle....

Finally, English Oral was better. Ms Tan said I just have to avoid using Singlish sometimes. (used Singlish in the middle of the conversation without realising it. :p)

Ms Tan's hearing and memory is really good, she can remember what I said and can even assess what went wrong. Thanks, Ms tan! :D
Her advice are really enlightening so I should cut down on Singlish. Hahas, maybe that well help in improving my Chinese as well. Yay!

Now to (perhaps)most interesting event of this week --> April's Fools Day!

Seriously, my class was really funny. We played a prank on Mr Goh and Mrs Sim! =]

We turned our tables and chairs to facing the window, forcing them to teach outside of the classrooms. Hahas.

Mr Goh got the pictures of us doing that but he had not passed to me.(he said he will pass to me through bluetooth but he did not =.=)

Oh well, I don't know when you guys would ever see it. (maybe never :o)

So this week have been eventful. Yeah.

P.S: Johnston and I are looking for anyone who is free during the December Holidays(after "O" Levels) and are willing to be actors because we are intending to make a video/movie. Any one interested please go http://jj.nchs-icc.com/saga/employf.pdf

Thank You!
