NCHS Prom Night 2009

Sorry for being so late for posting this. I was waiting for the pictures to arrive(and BTW, they still hadn't arrive :p)

Oh well, we will make do with whatever pictures that I currently have.(Though I will update this post whenever I receive new pictures though I doubt it because those people seldom go online. O.o)

Verdict

Well..overall the Prom Night was a joy to attend. :D

The only thing I hated about it was rather personal. My father wore the shoes that I intended to wear for Prom Night to work, so I had to wear his other pairs of shoes but all of them were all too small. As a result, I got blisters on my foot after Prom Night. Pain Throughout! Ouch!

You have no idea how glad I am from the fact that the food is edible! Woots! Hahas...I was so worried that the food would just taste bad and I would go home with a overturned stomach. :p

Lastly, I had fun there. Did not really took much pictures of myself (You know I don't really like to Camwhore. :p)

All right, enough beating around the bush, it's time to draw the curtains and start the...

Still at home (Opps?)

Okay...I know this is way random! XD

But anyway, I'm just trying to tell you that I left home rather late that day. I left house at around 3:51PM. (and this picture what taken really really long ago but never had the oppportunity to use it. :p)

Wanted to take a picture of myself after wearing the clothes for Prom Night but the lighting during that period of time wasn't very ideal.

Waiting for the Sun to set?! (Literally)

Jaytii called to ask when I was reaching(since we were supposed to reach Compass Point by 4PM. Opps?
Hey, Lai Yin told me that she was going to be late so she changed the meeting time to 4:30PM but I couldn't contact Jaytii(until just now).

Of course, by then it was too late, so I walked my way towards Compass Point (Bear in mind that I could not walk fast because of the stupid shoes. :o)

After what seemed like an eternity, I finally reached the meeting area. YES!

Bought plasters. (Though it proved to be of little help later since I got more blisters during the night. Hahas)

We waited for half an hour for Lai Yin to show herself.

We stayed another half an hour for Guan Hui to be visible. (okay, no offence intended.)

So yeah, we waited a total of 1 hour to finally set off for Singapore Flyer(the Venue of the Prom Night)

So you can't say I'm late, right? :p

Uber Chaos

I wonder why I chose such a title heading but I think it fits.

Heading to the nearest MRT Station leading to the Singapore Flyer was easy but  reaching to the destination is actually easier said than done.

The original(or not-so-original) plan was to take the public transport to the destination and that includes reaching there via buses.

For some reasons unknown to me, Chris decided to walk from the MRT Station to the Singapore Flyer.

Did I mention that my foot hurt? Nevermind...

I wonder why Chris never knew of our plans to board a bus to Singapore Flyer
(oh wait, maybe I know why...;)

Oh well, so begins our great and painful journey from City Hall MRT Station to Singapore Flyer...

Lesson Learnt: Never, never walk to Singapore Flyer unless you feel like running a marathon.

During our slow and tormenting walk, we passed the Esplanade. Opps, my bad. We entered it as well. Hahas!

Things changed quite a bit since Emelia's Performance here. Okay, I know that's a long time ago(months ago) but must you remind me time flies so fast?!

(I feel old. =.=)

Walking further, we reached the Singapore Flyer! (At Last!)

It was amazing that we reached there 10 minutes early.

Walked around with them since Ms Pey did not allow us to enter yet. (Yes, I can't believe such a thing can happen too!)

Night is befalling on us but it's still rather bright here. While waiting for Ms Pey to finally allow us entrance, we spotted Pei Si and Co on the Flyer already. (boy, are they early...)

That's when I started wondering if we could board the Flyer despite having boarding it once already. But it was during the day! Johnston told me the views were rather good during the night.

Hence, I'm curious to see how nice it is. Ha!

Keller informed me that there's currently a promotion for students. Just (wonder why we need to use the word "just" since it's still not anywhere cheap but still...) $10 and we can board the Flyer!

Nevertheless, we did not go to board the Flyer(yet) because the Prom Night is starting!

And the fun begins~!...

Prom Night Part 1 (With Teachers)

Isn't it amazing that just two rows of Buffet Table can make so many people full?
(okay, I was joking! The waiters would re-stock the food every time the food supply ran low on the tables. But the sad thing would be...the food's cold.)

This is the table that we (Bao Lin, Cynthia, Dolly, Chris and Jaytii, Guan Hui, Wei Ting, Lai Yin, Vanessa, and Me) were sitting.

Did you realise you could not really see the projector screen properly because of the balloons???....

I wish I could show you the videos that were shown during the Prom Night(they supplied the videos in our CDs) but the school said they are retaining the copyrights. It's like.,..WHAT?! How come pictures of ourselves cannot be distributed by us? It just does not make sense. (I mean I don't recall selling the licenses of my face to the school. Hahas!)

So...sorry! No videos to see for this.

The 'games' we played during Prom Night

The first game was really challenging. The DJ would play six songs and we need to identify the songs. After the second song, we gave up.(Because we could not identify the first two songs. XD)

The second game was just plain EPIC FAIL. (okay, cannot be so critical, I meant LAME/boring. Okay, that wasn't of much help...)
We were suppose to use the first letter of our Christian name or Family Name to form a sentence: "NCHS Hooray"

You know this game is very discriminating and unplayable?

Just look at my Christian name and family name: Leroy Lim

Is 'L' needed? =.=

Praise the BRIGHT guy who suggested this game...

Nevertheless, one group(coincidentally, all boys) managed to form the sentence and the best part was..there was no prize.

=.= I guess they wasted their efforts and they had to lead the singing of the School Song. Hee...
Dinner Time!
After the games, we went for Dinner. Obviously, I'm not going to let anyone take pictures of our unglam-ness. (Not that anyone was free to take pictures anyway :D)

We had Fried Rice, Noodles, Peking Duck, Fried Prawns, Oysters, Chicken, Satays, etc

Not to mention, we had salads and Chocolate Fondues! Mmm!

Intermission

After dinner, we went aboard the Flyer! (the pictures that we took of ourselves during the trip are mostly with lai Yin and others, I guess we just have to wait. :p)
I do not have many pictures since our cameras, save Lai Yin's, could not take nice pictures in the dark. O.o

I must agree that the landscape is much nicer during the night but it's rather hard to take pictures of them during the night because the flash from camera would reflect from the glass walls of the capsule, creating a bright spot in the pictures.

Prom Night Part 2(Without Teachers)

We missed the Farewell Video during the Intermission, but I had watched it when I reached home. Since I missed the opportunity to do it there, I would like to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to Ms Tan, my form Teachers!

Update: Kay Wei 'dared' to upload it! So here's the video. :)

When we returned to the Event Hall, the lights were dimmed as people danced (since the teachers had left. Woots?)

Separated from Chris, Jaytii and Lai Yin and the rest of us changed tables to some where near the drink bar. Hee!

Lots of  people already started 'harvesting the balloons'. Wonder why people like balloons???

Anyway, Wei Ting, Bao Lin and Cynthia also wanted balloons.
In the end, Wei Ting and Cynthia managed to get balloons. (Cynthia got one of each colour) while Bao Lin got none since she arrived late. :p

P.S: Who says being tall is good? I ended up helping them taking the balloons that were high up. LOLs...Just joking!

It was getting late and they had to go home.

Jaytii, Chris and Lai Yin went home without us. (We were suppose to pool a cab!)

Oh well, I ended up hitching a ride on Bao Lin's Sister's Car to a bus stop near her house so that I can go home. Thanks, Bao Lin!

Be glad that I forced myself to blog today. Hahas. After posting this, I'm going straight off to bed because I have Prom Night. :p

I don't really want to type a lot so here's the usual. I'm going to use the photos to do the talking. :p

Picnic@Pasir Ris Park

Actually, today's supposed to be 4D's Class Outing but due to some reasons, it was posptoned to next week. (Just plain shit, potential clash of events)

Well, despite the postponing of the outing, Jaytii (and probably Chris) still wanted to go out. Since I had nothing else planned for today(because it was originally the outing, remember? =.=)

I got to admit, I was sort of dead tired. Perhaps I should had stayed at home and read a book and fall asleep or something.

Oh well, too late for second thoughts, before even being able to finish my Soduko, Lai Yin reached Compass Point which meant I should start leaving house too.

I failed to spot Lai Yin among the people in Compass Point, plainly because she re-bonded her hair. (Yes, another rarity in this strange world...)

Headed for Pasir Ris Park where Jaytii and Chris were in...

Reached Pasir Ris Town Park(Not to mention that it started raining the moment we reached, bad omen) and encountered this Fishing Farm. Yeah, so this picture is totally random. :p

Couldn't find Chris and Jaytii. (Another bad omen coming!)

Walked around the Fishing Farm and basically the whole of the Pasir Ris Town Park as the rain got heavily and little during the 'walk'.

Funnily, we could not see each other.

This conversation took place:
Me: Pasir Ris only got one park right?
Chris: Er..yeah!
Me: Okay. That means we're in the right place.

Despite that confirmation, we could not find the landmarks they told us to look out for. This is getting strange.

After a hour of walking, we got fed up and decided to meet up with Chris at the MRT Station nearby.

Amazingly, we were in the wrong park. (And I thought we were on the correct location. :p)


There are two Parks in Pasir Ris.
I don't think I need to repeat that statement. :p

They were in Pasir Rish Park (Notice the missing 'Town' word)

God, my stupidity got the better of me!

Anyway, on the bright side, I walked for a hour, that's exercising! Woots!

Heavy Rain came when we met up at the MRT Station. O.o


Went to meet up with Jaytii at the Shelter.

Can you see the heavy rain?! Anyway, here's the surroundings of our shelter....

Yay, thank you Rain. Now we can't play Kite and anything outdoors. (and ruined my original plan to read my book peacefully too! Argh!)

Since we were stuck from Heavy Rain, we played cards and stuff.(which isn't really much)

Ate Lunch in the shelter with added ingredients:Rain Water. Great.

Since the ground itself is wet, we set up Picnic Mats to give ourselves dry land to sit on(now that we're anywhere near dry anyway. Ha!)

How's this for sitting ground? :p

By 5PM, the heavy rain was still ongoing though not as heavy as its climax. *Shrug*

Well, we had to leave anyway, so we headed home. Hopefully there won't be any rain tomorrow or on Monday.

Obviously, I hope not!

But I got a feeling I will attend the Prom Night under-dressed. Oh heck! Who cares? ;)

My, won't that be memorable. Hahas!

2012 & Sentosa

Woke up rather late today. Woke up at 10AM. Felt very exhausted because I played with Johnston until Midnight last night. O.o

Forced myself awake and called Marcus and Johnston immediately.

Switched on computer and finalised the details of today's outing.

Turned out that Marcus could not join us. Sad. Sad. He had to go work today. Haiz.

Oh well, I will still be meeting him for next week's meeting at Jackie's House anyway. (Provided there is no clash)

Wish me luck in attending the meeting. :D

@ Bugis

Meeting up

After shutting down my computer, I was about to leave house to meet the others when my stepmother stopped me.

She wanted me to eat lunch first!

The original plan was to eat lunch during the movie.

So, I ended up eating a heavy lunch. (My stepmother gave me one entire pot rice for lunch! OMG!)

That's enough for two to be full. I think she wants to gain some weight. :p

Best part? I'm still eating during the movie. Woots!

After the unanticipated lunch, I rushed to Bugis and actually reached there 5 minutes early. Hahas, miracle man.

Did I mention that I left home behind schedule? :-)
Today's a good day. Hahas!

Turns out that Johnston was earlier than me so we met and discussed about upcoming movies should be watch.

Johnston was hoping that 2012(the movie we decided to watch) would not be like the Movie "9" (So do I. :p)

Our next attendee of the outing arrived. He's Darian! So that means I met a new friend today. :D

In-Between

We booked the tickets and then we realised something...
We had one hour and we had nothing to do(We did not plan for this!)

Great! Hahas. We loitered around Bugis Junction, took some pictures. :D

This Christmas Tree is already in place in Bugis Junction. (yeah, so early)
Wonder how they place such a big tree here?
Is it just me but does this tree look familiar? Hmm...

After a while, we decided to go MacDonald's to eat some French Fries. But we did not because it turned out that Darian ate Brunch there, so obviously, he won't want to re-enter there. Hahas...

We started talking about how's life after our National Examinations.

Then we got sort of awkward because we're not shopping and we're loitering around the shops so we went to the Arcade.

Played Mario Kart though Darian didn't want to play arcade so he just watched.

I got Second, I was so close to getting First. I was overtook by Johnston in the last 2 seconds!

Ahh!! The feeling of brinkmanship. Hahas...

We went on to play Time Crisis 4. Let's just say that it was an utter trashing.

Since we still had time remaining, we just stood and watched other people play their games...

The Movie: 2012

The movie was great!

Aside from you people wondering whether this 2012 thing is true(which scientists say is false), the storyline progression was alike to Transformers: The Movie. Which means...EPIC!

There were many dramatic scenes, many of which were played out rather well.

Many scenes were really touching and sad because so many people died.

But we're rather sadistic. :p

Okay, to those people who hadn't watched the movie, look out for this character: Yuri

Character Bio: He's a Russian Character and I believe he's the Comic Relief in this movie. He's pretty good at making us laugh after sad scenes.

So be extra careful of what he has to say in the movie! Hahas!

After the movie, Darian decided he would be more environmentally green (for a few days at least)

Hunting for Keller

Keller was coming to join us after the movie(he did not join us for the movie because he already watched.)

I told him to meet us at the Water Fountain but he was nowhere to be seen.

After waiting for a few seconds(okay, so I'm  a bit impatient), I called his mobile.

While I was calling, Darian took a surprise photo of me. LOL!

Totally, unprepared for this. Hahas!!!

Meanwhile, I contacted keller and he could not find the water fountain. So I asked him where he was.

Turns out that he was the MacDonald's which was near the water fountain. He could not find it because the giant Christmas Tree blocked it from his view. Nice!

@ Sentosa/Vivocity

Entering Sentosa
Wasting no time, we headed for Vivocity.

Since we're all lazy to walk, we entered Sentosa through the Sentosa Express AKA Monorail. :)

The entry card includes an invitation to New Year Countdown Party! Hmm...should we attend?

The Bridge to Sentosa! Yeah, there are some ugly construction behind but only because it's constructing the IR and Universal Studies. Can't wait to see how it will turn out. ;)

Luge and Skyride!

Now to our next highlight of our outing!

So we bought the tickets for Luge, We actually wanted three rides but we were short on funds. :p
Maybe next time then. ;)

We took the Skyride first! Johnston and Darian were ahead of us. C'mon! Wave back to us! ;)

Yeah, you know I'm scared of Heights so how come I tried it anyway?
*Shrug* For the experience, I guess. I was a bit freaked out in the beginning when we were going higher since I got this feeling that I was going to fall down.

But after I manage to calm down(by thinking "I'm not going to die!") Things got better. :D

Okay, what now?

Exiting from the Luge Station, we were thinking what we should do now. 4D magix? Musical Fountain? Dinner?

This was near the luge Station.

This is the entrance to the Musical Fountain. It's called "Songs of the Sea"

Upon reaching here, it started to rain. Ahh!

Dinnertime!

Since it started rain, watching Musical Fountain is officially out of question. So we decided to head for Dinner.

We headed to Palawan Beach for Dinner. Darian ordered Char Siew Rice(Hope I spell correctly) while Keller ordered some noodles.

Johnston and I ordered Spicy Beef Ramen.

After ordering, we regretted it thoroughly. The smell itself was very spicy. (And you know I don't really like Spicy food. :p)

So here's our feeble attempts to finish this spicy food:

Yay! Finished the noodles, left the vegetables and soup. (In the end, I did not drink the soup, too spicy!)

Keller tried the soup, at the second spoon, he felt the effect of the spiciness. He took three spoonful in total.

Amazingly, the pain was long lasting, keller called it the after-effects of the soup. Hahas!

Johnston is better at spicy food than me. He is eating with much ease. :p

But he also needed drinks to soothe the spiciness. ;p

4D Magix/CineBlast

Next stop, we headed for 4D Magix. It's still raining rather heavily, so Musical Fountain is definitely impossible to watch already.

When we were moving to the 4D Magix Venue, we passed by the Merlion. Keller had mentioned earlier that he wanted to jump down from the Merlion(without ropes, of course :D)
So we were like daring him to do just that. :p

Reaching our destination, we decided to watch "Pirates" even though Johnston watched before. He said that it was okay and that he don't mind watching again. O.o Oh well.

The video was not bad. The bees were really real and life-threatening!

Some of the people inside screamed when the 4D part comes alive to scare them. :p
Wanna know what scared them? Go try one yourself. ;)

Home

After the video, we took some more pictures!

That keller took revenge on me by putting the Rabbit's Ear! Argh! I will do that back to you. Hahas!

Darian commented that Johnston had no neck. LOLs?

Tired, we returned home...

2. Three elements - Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen - were in a race. Who won?

Answer to #1: Superman. Because when "Batman Begins", "Superman Returns"

Shopping @ Far East Plaza

Whether by fate or by design, we decided to go to Orchard, Far East Plaza.

Brought them to my mother's shop and took some pictures of the interior of the shop. (yes like finally?)

Met many people that we knew. Like, Girls from 4D, Sally, and Stephanie, etc, etc.

Oh! I think I got scammed by the Drink Stall in Far East Plaza. It cost $2 for a bottle of Lemon Juice. Talk about Inflation =.=

Apart from that, nothing else interesting occurred.

Fixing of PSP

After shopping, I went to Wisma Atria to send my PSP on fixing.

The counter informed me that it may cost $130 to repair it. (My wallet's getting holes now...)

I had not decided whether it's worth it to pay yet. Maybe I wasn't meant to own a PSP. :o

Hmm...

World Kindness Day 2009

Happy Kindness Day to all!

Had the day been kind to you? Well, it had been kind to me today! :D

Kind things that happened to me:

1. Relatively Easy Chemistry Paper 1
2. Stepmother allowed me to use Handphone
3. Father gave me $50 to buy my prom night stuffs

Sadly, though everything else is kind, the cost of buying the yellow flower which symbolise kindness ain't kind. :p

My step mother's mother returned back to her homeland this morning as I had my last paper.

Wonder what's going to happen at home now. Less one sensible person at home can be rather bad...

Shopping@Hougang

The Gathering

Well..this shopping trip was organised by Lai Yin.

So basically, this is an shopping trip with Jaytii & co. + Cynthia, Bao Lin and Wei Ting. (Chris cannot make it though)

It was planned to meet up at Compass Point(Sengkang MRT Station) at 1PM.
(Our paper ends at 9AM today)

But some how or rather, some of us came early.

For example, I came at 12:40PM.

Jaytii, on the other hand, came at 12:30PM.

=.=, she made me look like I'm late. :p

Went to library to find Jaytii. Took me time to find her.
A moment later, we bumped into Cynthia and Wei Ting.

Borrowed two books there were both recommended by Jaytii. Well, I started on one book, quite confident that I can finish by this weekend. It's rather thin.
(Note to Marcus: Don't worry, your books are still top priority! ;)

At around 1PM, we went to the MRT Station to meet up with the others(excluding Yan Zhi).

Yan Zhi had already found a job! That's why he could only join us later. Oh well. :p

reppeP Lunch
Okay, I meant Pepper Lunch. :p

After the group gathered, we went to Hougang for Lunch.
(P.S: I had lunch before this at home. Hahas)

So personally, this is my Lunch Part 2. Woots!

Cynthia was like complaining non-stop that she was hungry(don't let her hear that. Hahas)

We were deciding between MacDonald's and KFC until Jaytii suggested eating something that we don't normally eat in our normal school days, seeing that Compass Point had MacDonald's and KFC.
(Just out of curiosity, I thought we were boycotting MacDonald's???)

So they decided to eat at PepperLunch. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what that is so I am going to skip the introduction and stuff.

In short, everyone of us bought Student Meal.
If my memory serves right, only Jaytii called for an upsize. O.o
(Obviously, I'm not going to upsize, I had lunch prior to this!)

Funnily, the one who was complaining forever that she was hungry was to last to order.

I ordered Chicken Pepper Rice. (If you recall, I don't really like Spicy food)
Which was pretty much the same order as Bao Lin, Wei Ting, and Cynthia.

Lai Yin ordered some Curry-???-Pepper Rice. :p
No idea the rest bought what because I could not identify.

Did I mention that this is the first time I ate at PepperLunch?

Oh well..You know what I think is cool in eating at PepperLunch? Being able to play with the food! (okay, I'm being childish.)

Seriously, I think my Dad will love this place. He likes food that are freaking hot(as in high temperature)

My rice's taste was influenced by other garnishes thanks to 'Assistant-Chef' Bao Lin and Wei Ting
Bao Lin added salt on my rice while Wei Ting added Pepper. (Thank god there was no Chilli there or I would just forsake eating the entire plate of rice.)

Best part? They did not seek my consent prior to adding the ingredients. 'Best'. =.=

But the rice still taste nice, though the last few mouthful was really salty because I forgot to stir the bottom to distribute the added salt. (Actually, I thought she only added on the top-left corner on my rice.)

Not bad. Go have a try!

The Tall One comes!

Yan Zhi arrived after we had lunch. I was the last to detect his presence. Before I knew it, he was right in front of me!

I was like, 'who is this tall guy?'
I looked up, I see Yan Zhi.

He gave me a =.= face because I should had seen him coming earlier. Opps?

Yan Zhi had his hair highlighted with shades of Brown(I think...)

Well, with him arriving, the shopping officially started. :D
(okay, that sounded strange)

Fashion Imbalance

One thing Yan Zhi and I realised on Hougang. There was only two shops selling male clothings. Two out of god-knows-how-many shops in Hougang.

Forget Trade Imbalance, talk about Fashion Imbalance. ;)

Unlike the girls, we pretty much looked though the clothes in those two shops while they were still in the first shop.

Yan Zhi and I walked around Hougang Mall to (hopefully) look for more shops that sell male clothes.

Midway, we met Mr Lim(our PE teacher). He was having lunch at a hawker centre(alone, aww...)

Apparently, Mr Lim was the Chief Invigilator in some nearby school. How cool is that?
(say Way cool!)

When we returned to Hougang Mall, the girls were still in the first shop!
(Suddenly, I got a feeling that this would take forever. :p)

Wow.

Yan Zhi and I went for second round, this time for leisure sake.

For some unknown reasons, we met some familiar people again,

This time, I spotted Beatrice. She was engrossed with her Harry Potter Book. I was like in front of her, waving frantically before she realised I was there.

LOL?! Nice!

Turns out that Pei Si was re-bonding her hair here. (Pei Si was TRYING very hard not to notice us. :p)

We asked Beatrice to call the girls over to meet up. (and to 'ambush' Pei Si)

After all the 'ambushing' and stuffs, we found that Beatrice and Pei Si were heading to Bugis later(which was our next destination...)

This is too much of a coincidence? O.o

Shopping @ Bugis

Since we were all heading the same direction so we decided to wait for Pei Si.

5 minutes later...

We're getting restless. Lai Yin informed us that it will take some time so we finally decided to move on first.

Cynthia had to go so she did not follow us.

And so we go to Bugis! (Through the MRT, of course)

On the MRT, the girls all looked like they were lifeless already. Wonder how they going to survive shopping in Bugis. :p

Went to Bugis Street with Yan Zhi to shop.

Saw some interesting shirts. :)

ROFL?

Well, at least I got a black pair of (skinny) jeans. Hmm..guess I'm going to wear that for Prom Night.

P.S: By some twist of luck, yan Zhi and I met Beatrice and Pei Si AGAIN! (In Bugis Street)

Homed *Yawn*

At around 6:20PM, we decided to head home.

Learnt a lesson, never head home around Peak Hours. The MRT Station was packed with commuters.
Thankfully, the train frequency was not bad during such times. ;)

Lai Yin disappeared when the Train came though. LOL?

Everybody(except Yan Zhi and I) looked pretty tired by then. I guess today's Shopping was too straining for them.

Reached home at 8PM.
