Secret War Journal[28 May 2010]

Before I start this post...(oh and this could potentially be a long post)

HAPPY VESAK DAY!!!

Went to the temple downstairs this afternoon to celebrate Vesak day. Like my dad, this is actually our first time celebrating Vesak Day at a temple and understand the Buddhist culture.

It's quite an eye-opener. Instead of taking three joss sticks, you take five.
(And I realised as I was going home, 5 could stand for many things. 5 for the 5th Month, May. 5 for the 5 directions for Chinese. [The 5 legendary Guardians]. Of course, I think that 5 symbolises the Five main deities in the temple.)

Had (double) lunch at the temple. Here's something funny. Today, I finally realise, as do my Father, that there are not one but two temples near our house. How did we find out? When we having lunch at the temple. :p

Like any other temple, you get your lunch by queueing up at a specified area, for the more predominant temple, the one where we prayed to the deities, there was a long queue. So long that one of the temple staff was joking with one man.

Man: The queue is very long and it keeps bending!
Staff: Yeah, it's very long, just be patient. Not even the 80 beads are enough for this queue!
Man(laughs): You should have 800 beads. :)

If you don't understand this joke...er...it is okay. Hahas.

After we got our lunch, we needed to find a place to eat. As the area was crowded, we walked and walked and (unknowingly) went to the neighbouring temple where the pathway was connected which made it seem as  if we still in the same temple.

At this temple, it wasn't as crowded so it was easy to find seats to eat. After eating finish our portions, we found it weird that some people here were eating something different from us and best of all, the catering area was devoid of crowd!

That's when we realise that we were in another temple. ROFL. How long had we lived here again?

Had ice-cream before heading for Compass Point. New Shoes! FTW~! (*Random*)

Pity the ice-cream man outside the Temple, who would buy from him when there are better and free ice-cream provided by the temple? :o

Back to our main topic...

Secret War Journal[19 May 2010]
One classmate of mine commented that it's easy for me to laugh. BASED on that assumption(On a scale of 1 to 5):
  • If I'm not laughing, entertainment value of conversation = 0
  • Sarcastic Laughing = -5 or 1
  • Muffled or soft Laughing/Slightly Amused = 2
  • Amused = 3
  • Worth laughing = 4
  • Joke of the Day = 5
Go figure.

From 'Dislike' to 'Detest', that's for hurting my friend. Be thankful of his kindness.

And I wonder how I survive, being so near their presence...

A.S.S. has its own meaning.

Secret War Journal[2 April 2010]
This post is seriously overdue! XD

Oh well, don't blame me, blame the school for depriving me of free time. Hahas. I was joking. Okay, let's make this post short because I'm running short on time. ;)

Went with:
  1. Beatrice
  2. Wei Ting
  3. Jia Pei
  4. Siew Yan
  5. Pei Si
  6. Pei Wen
  7. Yi Cheng
  8. Darren
  9. Lloyd
  10. Benjamin
Sorry if I missed out anyone, it was too long ago...:p

Met quite a few people that day. Saw Yong Liang, Jun Yu, Vivian. O.o

[Actually, on that day, keller and Qi Xiang were at Plaza Singapura too. Coincidental much?]

We wanted to watch the movie during the afternoon but being a public holiday that day, it was fully booked already. So we booked the next one, which would be close to evening.

And, this is perhaps my first time watching a movie in a cinema at the first rows(which are normally reserved for serious movie fan. O.o) Hahas.

Talked with friends to kill time while wandering around the mall and eating stuff. One highlight during this period of time, avoiding Siew Yan's sinister DSLR camera! (okay, not sinister but stalker-ish ^^)

But it was fun and enjoyable talking with Beatrice, Wei Ting, and Siew Yan. Really had a great time that day. ^^

Now the movie review! (No, not really)
The movie's nice, if you hadn't watch by now, you just missed a extremely nice movie! Go grab the DVD and watch at the comforts of your home! Yeah! (Sorry, I a bit hyper from the boredom arise from studying. :p)

The movie is funny and also touching (Pei Si was crying non-stop after that, I was sort of teary during the touching part too. I guess everyone is, it's really a nice movie. ;)

Finally, like all good movies, it has a nice storyline. Yay! Epic!

Sadly, after the movie, I had to rush home for dinner. Haiz...

Meaning of Friends

Secret War Journal[2 May 2010]
It's going take a long time for me to post the one I'm working on right now. So sorry, I thank you all for the patience. I hope you don't mind if I post something rather emo right now...

Friends....are the ones who you find comfort in their company
Close Friends...are people who you confide with when you're down
Best friends...are rare ones who mirror your personality.

Any others ain't friends by definition.

I hurt those who are close to me...
It's better to stay away from me...
I bring sorrow, grief, and death...
